How to do subcutaneous (s.c. or SC) injection

Materials:

A 27-gauge or smaller needle
A 1-cc syringe

Methods:

Here we choose the loose skin in the right flank as the injection site so that the measurement of the subsequent growing tumor will be easier. Restrain the mouse properly, after disinfecting the skin with 70% ethanol wipes insert a 27-gauge or smaller needle firmly through the skin and further advance a few millimeters, lift up the needle tip a bit to make sure that it is not in muscle, inject the material.
